Timetable/Schedule On Your Wedding Day (An Example Only)
Ceremony at The Great Hall at Mains
Whilst you are enjoying the morning of your wedding – perhaps being pampered, or preparing with friends and family for your big day, your dedicated team at The Great Hall will already be onsite making those final preparations for your arrival.
Being the first of the wedding party to arrive, with his best man and ushers in tow, the groom will be on hand to greet your guests. After meeting with the registrars, the groom will be ready for the ceremony, now only awaiting the important arrival of his bride-to-be.
Before the bride’s arrival, an announcement will be made for everyone to make their way through to the ceremony area. The bride will then also meet with the registrars, before making her formal entrance by her chosen mode of transport, through the exquisite gardens and then onto the terrace.
As your specially requested music begins to play, all of the guests, and of course the groom, turn to watch as the bride enters from the terrace and makes her way down the carpeted aisle. In front of the candle lit fireplace your vows are taken whilst all of your closest family and friends look on.
As your ceremony concludes, your chosen celebratory drinks are served on the terrace, as your guests offer their congratulations to you as Husband and Wife. During this time, and whilst your photographs are being taken, your team at The Great Hall are preparing the hall for your wedding breakfast according to your specifications.
An announcement is made for your guests to take their seats and finally you enter as the Bride and Bridegroom to rapturous applause.
After the conclusion of your wedding breakfast meal, we approach the time which the Father of the Bride, the Groom and the Best Man have all been dreading – the speeches! With a glass of champagne, your continued health and happiness will be toasted, as you survey the smiling faces of your guests.
It is at this point that the wedding breakfast concludes and more photographs may be taken, as you and your guests relax with drinks on the terrace. Following the evening room preparations, your DJ/Entertainer begins to play and your celebrations begin in earnest. The evening supper is usually received at around 9pm following the day’s memorable activities.
As the day draws to a close and you leave The Great Hall, your guests wave you off and the team here at The Great Hall bid you a fond farewell. You will be greatly missed, but of course we will be delighted to welcome you back anytime in the future, but especially to share with us your wedding day and honeymoon photos.
Following your marriage ceremony elsewhere, your guests will make their way to The Great Hall. They will be invited to gather on the terrace with a glass of champagne or arrival drink of your choice, ready to greet you. Your arrival can be tailor made to suit your requirements – chauffeur driven limousine, horse drawn carriage, classic car, or whatever you’re desires may be.
Your photographer may then take your desired shots in the beautiful landscaped gardens, whilst your guests enjoy a drink and relax in the grounds. Following this an announcement will be made for your guests to take their seats for the wedding breakfast.
The day may then take a similar format to the one above, but above all, in both cases, The Great Hall at Mains will be Exclusively Yours.
Your dedicated wedding co-ordinator will work with you to design a room layout that suits your needs and guest numbers.
Our standard 5ft round tables are comfortable for up to ten of your guests and your top table can be any size and shape of your choice, whether you opt for a round, a traditional long or a u-shaped arrangement.
Any additional tables, such as larger round tables or larger rectangular tables may be hired in as optional extras (for example where weddings may be themed in a Medieval/Tudor style).
All our chairs are gold but we can recommend any ancillary items such as chair covers, bows, coloured linen, napkins, favours etc. to enhance your dining experience. We can also advise you on marquees, lighting and stage equipment should you require.
