About Us - The Great Hall at Mains

About Us

The Great Hall at Mains is a timber-framed building, built to replicate an original Banqueting Hall that was on this exact spot over 500 years ago and – despite its new appearance, beneath us, lie several hundred years of history …if not more.

The Great Hall was designed by us, Adele and Roger Yeomans, in 2004 and was constructed as a purpose built venue for weddings and events to replace an older and smaller building once affectionately known as The Royal Garden Room.

As the business dictated, we soon realised that we needed a larger space to accommodate bigger numbers, especially for weddings, and after 15 or so years of ownership, felt the time had come to expand.

The new Great Hall needed to incorporate the best of the historic aspects of the site and Mains Hall Manor (now used as accommodation for clients and group bookings) whilst also incorporating the more modern expectations of our wedding guests.

Timber frame blends comfortably with huge modern windows, which let in enormous amounts of light, whilst affording superb views of the gardens – elements which can often be missing from very old barn-like constructions.

We consider that we now have the perfect venue for all your wedding or event requirements and believe ourselves to be the foremost wedding venue in Lancashire.
We look forward to hosting your special day with us.
